What would be most interesting for persons who have not read yet this story are the gothic experiences of the couple leading to the ending. One strong experience they have involved curtains (you won’t get anything else from me on this one). For me, as the climax of the story is also the ending, it provided me with enough details, poetic and otherwise, to imagine whatever I want to for its ending. And because the story is basically about unrequited love, whatever ending I would conjure up in my mind would always be heart-wrenching.
I was expecting a fairytale flow for a story that has a dramatic title by an author who is new to me. I got more than I expected. It was a pleasant surprise.
What short stories have you read in the past week? I encourage you to share them here.
