I enjoyed meeting another blogger, Jaime Arnold of Two Chicks on Books, through Book Blogger Appreciation Week Day 2’s Interview Swap! Apart from owning her book blog, she is also a publicist of Entangled Publishing. How cool is that?
Here are her answers to my book blogging-related questions:
How did you start book blogging?
Wow, that's hard to answer. In the beginning, I went to a lot of book signings and I met a bunch of the Northern California bloggers and I thought "Hey, how do I do this?" So I did tons of research and eventually figured out what to do and then I got a partner because I didn't think I'd be able to do it by myself. So now, almost two years later, I think I'm doing pretty good. I am partner-less now a thing that recently happened and I realized it's for the best. I'm too much of a control freak to have a partner.
What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Meeting the other book bloggers is by far my favorite! But I'd also have to say going to book conferences and, yes, getting those advanced readers copies is pretty damn cool, too! I also got my job because of blogging (publicist for Entangled Publishing). :)
What is the best YA book you have read so far this year?
I can't pick just one. It's a toss up between The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson, Grave Mercy by RL LaFevers, Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins, Eve & Adam by Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate, and Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris.
Who is your favorite YA character?
I really don't have one favorite, but Elisa from Rae Carson's Fire and Thorns books is up there. And Valek from the Study/Glass books of course he's my number one Book Boyfriend!
What is the most challenging book you have read?
I'd say challenging because I hated it (lol), but it's definitely Gone With the Wind. Hated that book!
What are your “guilty pleasure” reads?
I honestly don't have any. But "me" reads? I'd say The Black Dagger Brotherhood books by JR Ward.
What is your least favorite book? Why?
Gone With the Wind. It was just soooo boring and long!
What book/s are you looking forward to reading?
It's a long list (lol)....
Gravity by Melissa West; Greta and The Goblin King by Chloe Jacobs; The Collector by Victoria Scott; Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout; Toxic by Jus Accardo; Naturals by Tiffany Truitt; Conjure by Lea Nolan; Requiem by Lauren Oliver; Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi; Spellcaster by Claudia Gray; Prophecy by Ellen Oh; Shadows in the Silence by Courtney Allison Moulton; Boundless by Cynthia Hand; Everbound by Brodi Ashton
A Touch Menacing by Leah Clifford; Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza; Fragments by Dan Wells
Rise by Anna Carey; Wastelandby Susan Kim; Blood Kissed Sky by JA London; The Shards and Ashes Anthology; The Rising by Kelley Armstrong
Share at least one book-related confession.
I hate contemporary books.
Share something about yourself that has nothing to do with books.
I'm a die hard sports fan! I love NASCAR, baseball, extreme sports, and football. I also love to cook and travel.
Thanks so much for having me. :)
And thank you, too, Jaime, for answering my questions and having me in your lovely blog. Happy to know you!

I've never read Gone With the Wind. My husband is a die-hard NASCAR fan too. He was able to cross off going to the Daytona 500 from his Bucket List this year. I was thrilled for him.
ReplyDeleteHi Angela, thanks for dropping by! I have a copy of the Gone with the Wind, which I haven't opened yet, but I agree it is long. Many bloggers are doing a read-a-long on this one, although I just don't have the time to join them now. I just hope it's not as boring as Jaime said. NASCAR is really cool. I'm glad about how your husband crossed that bit on his bucket list.
